Tactical Jet Launcher - A Toy

Readying for launch

Jet engines and counterthrusters firing

Jet Launched and already climbing

Controls, AGs and launch procedure:

Steer with Yaw

AG1. FWD engines (VTOL)

AG2. 4WD engines (four rear wheels so total of 6WD) (VTOL)

AG3. a. VTOL+Up to lower jackstand bracers to keep you set
         b. Trim+Down to raise jet to launch position and all of the associated moving parts
    c. Throttle up to fire counterthrust jet engines

AG4. Throttle up to fire Platform Jet engines (this can be done simultaneously with the counterthrusters if you choose)

AG5. Detaches jet after you get the engines going full (it lifts off so pretty with that cheat gas tank)

(Now you want to deactivate AG3 to shut down the counterthrusters and lower the launch apparatus, your jackstands will stay down to keep your truck from rolling. Afterwards set Trim to a little above Zero for level flight)

AG6. Arresting hook (on AG6 this time like it's supposed to be)

AG7. Cannon, guns and turret (Pitch/Roll)

AG8. All lights and light covers

When you return to your truck after leaving the jet, make sure Throttle is back to Zero before activating 3 to raise your jackstands and go on your way.

On the truck, I figured out how to make reverse lights and how to activate them on both AG1 or AG2 by studying a rotator from the wonderful 'cat' by @dian74. I used a speedometer made by @FlyingHueman to make the (almost accurate) one in this truck. I

The separate Platform Jet has 54 parts, 11,154 lbs with cheat gas tank, 1682 drag. Easy to fly and land.

Since the truck is on the ground anyway and has a very limited top speed, I disabled drag calculations just for the truck (and not the jet) in order to make it run smoother on my phone. The jet has a cheat gas tank because this is a toy and it's really fun to fly like that (I also doubt it would lift off the truck with fuel weight added)

@ACEPILOT109 I'm in the US, I just know we aren't the only ones doing things. I read up a bit on the idea after I found yours. And that's awesome about the barn door. My platform jet could fit, though I could never get it to take off without the cheat fuel tank.

Different military’s? I assume your not in the US. And yeah I think the Germans did more research on this with the F-104 being launched from the inside of a barn out the door @DickBrazen

@ACEPILOT109 Thanks, I didn't even know it was a real thing until I saw yours. Shoulda known the different militaries would have one. Thanks for the spotlight!

@Mustang51 I forgot all about that one. It's been awhile since I've done it. I think I just used Foo Fighter by JohnnyBoythePilot to get past it at the time. Nice, I will.

@DickBrazen that sounds like fun! Try the SAM challenge too if you like that sort of thing

@Mustang51 Danke. I'm really happy with how the jet is evolving. It's very simple, but IMO very maneuverable. I go to the Ice Base without any weapons or countermeasures, fly low in that valley and see how many missiles I can dodge before they hit me. On my best run I've gotten past five groups of missiles before being shot down.
