F/A-56F Super Magnum

34.4k ErvenDynamics  2 months ago

The F/A-56E/F Super Magnum is a twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft based on the F/A-56 Magnum. The F/A-56E single-seat and the F/A-56F tandem-seat are larger, more advanced derivatives of the F/A-56C and D Magnum.
The F/A-56E/F first flew in 1990, and low-rate production began in 1995. The Super Magnum entered service with the Royal Emmerian Navy in 1998, replacing the F/A-17 Wasp, which was retired in 2005.
The Super Magnum is capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 1.8 (1,905 km/h, 1,184 mph), thanks to the two General Electric F650-S1 turbofans. The Super Magnum has eight hardpoints on its wings, two on its wingtips, and one under the fuselage. These hardpoints can be fitted with LAU-29A Common Missile Launchers, LAU-105, LAU-88, etc. The Super Magnum also has a 20mm M61A1 6-barelled gatling cannon mounted on the nose.
The Super Magnum was fitted with the AN/APG-79 AESA radar, capable of executing simultaneous air-to-air and air-to-ground attacks, and providing higher quality high-resolution ground mapping at long standoff ranges. The AESA radar can also detect smaller targets, such as inbound missiles and can track air targets beyond the range of the aircraft's air-to-air missiles. Block III aircraft were fitted with the AN/AYK-205B data processor along with Command Unit Management System.
The F/A-56E/F Super Magnum can carry a wide range of weaponry;

    @Ryan111 it’s when your plane goes vertical without gaining altitude. Su’s do it well. It’s good for getting behind an enemy behind you.

    @Sinacraft It's better when you have a lore behind something you build, even better when it's fictional.
