TROOP TRANSPORT CHALLENGE

Your goal is to build an aircraft or ground vehicle designed for carrying troops. Military transport aircraft are typically fixed wing and rotary wing cargo aircraft which are used to airlift troops, weapons and other military equipment by a variety of methods to any area of military operations around the surface of the planet, usually outside the commercial flight routes in uncontrolled airspace. Originally derived from bombers, military transport aircraft were used for delivering airborne forces during World War II and towing military gliders. Some military transport aircraft are tasked to perform multi-role duties such as aerial refueling and, rescue missions, tactical, operational and strategic airlifts onto unprepared runways, or those constructed by engineers. Rules

  • Can be fictional or a replica
  • If fictional, you must provide info about when it would have operated
  • Keep it relatively realistic (use the various Quinjets from Marvel as a stopping point for how futuristic it can get.)
  • If you have a question about the build's qualifications, just ask
  • unlimited XML modding is allowed, however
  • No mod parts (ex. Instrumentation, smoke trails, weapons bay fuselage, etc)
  • Your craft can have weapons, but keep in mind realism
  • Part count must be below over 130 but under 1000
  • Must be a new build, no reposts
  • Must be a successor (unless you've got a good reason why you can't)

Judging

builds will be judged on a 50 point scale based on;
- Design (Realism for the provided time period) - 10 points
- Flying performance A. (realism for the time)- 10 points
- Flying performance B. (did I enjoy flying it, does it fly well?)- 10 points
- Build quality (are decals and details well made? are they present? does the build look sloppy?)- 10 points
- Description quality (if a replica, does it give basic facts? if fictional, does it explain the craft well and provide a time period? are the controls listed? are there screenshots?)- 10 points

Prizes

*each category is judged separately
- 1st place: 15 upvotes + a spotlight (if possible)
- 2nd place: 10 upvotes + a spotlight (if possible)
- 3rd place: 5 upvotes + a spotlight (if possible)

@Stingray yes, you can use pre-modded pieces

Since Fine Tuner and Overload are not accessible on iOS, I’ll just nod my head and say you’ve made a profound clarification. I may need pre-modded standard menu items if I choose to contribute an entry. @ThePilotDude

@Stingray@JetFly so sorry for the confusion. XML modding is different from the mods on the "Mods" section of the site. The only ones there that you can use are Overload and Fine tuner if you need to do some ingame XML modding, or you can just do XML modding the normal way. So for example, you cannot use any special parts that come with the mods, but you can modify the stock SP parts with XML

Rules: No mod parts. Rules: Unlimited XML modding is allowed. @ThePilotDude request you re-think rules. Either all modding allowed or zero XML modding. Request you clarify what you mean by XML modding for the community participants. Thx.

@marcox43 they can be either. The challenge is judged based on how realsitic and well made your transport is. If you made a short range aircraft, you wouldn't lose to a long range one simply because yours can't go as far

since transport aircrafts can vary inmensely in type, in what kind of scenario will these units be used? close range support or long range?

Sure! But when you say "Troop transport", does that mean I can straight up just make a military cargo plane (The kind that soldiers parachute out of) for this challenge?
