Franz

This is a Bf-109f Tropical, White 12, group JG-27, belonging to Franz Stigler. Born on August 15, 1918 in Germany was Ludwig Franz Stigler, also known as Franz. The son of a WWI reconnaissance pilot, he loved flight from an early age, was employed by Lufthansa, and flew JU-52's. He was brought into service in the Luftwaffe as an instructor, but after the death of his brother August, who flew JU-88's, he decided to become a fighter pilot, and was stationed in north Africa, in the legendary "Desert Squadron" JG-27, under the command of "Edu" Neumann. Franz quickly became an ace, although by personal choice, didn't mark up his rudder for his victories. Along with many other Luftwaffe pilots, he followed an unwritten code of honor in combat, and was told by his squadron leader, Roedel, that if he ever heard or saw Franz shooting at a man in a parachute, he would shoot him down himself. Nothing shows his honor more than what he did when he encountered the B-17 Ye Olde Pub on Dec. 20 1943. Read about it here

@ThePilotDude yes I do agree there's also Otto kittle who was a German fighter pilot during World War II. He flew 583 combat missions on the Eastern Front, claiming 267 aerial victories, making him the fourth highest scoring ace in aviation history according to authors John Weal and Jerry Scutts.Kittel claimed all of his victories against the Red Air Force.

@BlitzBombers sure Marseille was an amazing pilot and ace, but I like Franz more. His story is much more inspirational. While Marseille was the cocky fighter jock and celebrity, Franz was much more reserved, never marked his rudder, and later in the war stopped caring about getting victories, and flew to protect his rookie comrades. Only then did he reluctantly mark his rudder, to give them some confidence. Anz then there's the Charlie Brown B-17 incident

@ThePilotDude The Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler incident in a really surprising encounter because he remarked that seeing the ye old pub riddled with large holes made him think that it was what it was like shooting men in there parachutes. And he never spoke about it because he would be court martialed but I think that was really considerate thing to do, helping someone who is in a bad situation and helping him to a nearby air base. :')

@ThePilotDude Can you make a BF-109-Z1? I was trying to do so myself(with another build, yours was to complicated), but it wasn't going too well.

@ZwillingerLuftfox46 it'd be a complicated process, you'd have to lengthen each of the orange nose fuselage pieces and then lengthen the blue ones just like you did for the orange

@ThePilotDude Yes, your right. And if I ever get the chance to make a BF-109-Z I will use your BF-109 to do it. But how exactly do I lengthen the nose? Do I add another section to it or do I somehow change the length of the nose piece itself?

@ZwillingerLuftfox46 agreed, but I'm happy with the way the aircraft turned out. If you want to, by all means, go ahead! If it bothers you just add some length to the nose
