Built out of necesity for a lightweight, high performance, carrier born interceptor, the Etendard represented patriotic dedication and years of design.
As the Korean war ended, many nations were conserned with their airforce being obsolete. France was one of them. They needed a ligheweight, low-cost interceptor, that could be launched from aircraft carriers. Their solution was a modified Super-Mystère, dubbed Dassault Étendard, or in english Battle Flag. This one bears the camouflage "Tiger" from 2003.
