HCS-22 (Kamov ka 32)

40.2k randomusername  2 months ago

The Kamov ka 32 is a Russian helicopter that was originally designed to carry troops out of combat, however, civilian models were created like the one you see here. The top speed of this helicopter is 230mph which is just for fun. The real helicopter could only go 155mph.
.

Stats:

  • Somewhat close to 1:1 scale.
  • Infinite range.
  • Barrel roll time of 6 seconds.
  • Backflip/front flip time of 6 seconds.
  • Yaw circle time of 30 seconds.
  • Max climb of somewhere between 21 and 30mph.
  • Top speed of 240mph.
  • Glide ratio is about half of the space shuttle's when the rotators are not active.

    Controls:

  • Act 1 to start the engines, VTOL for collective or negative lift.

  • Act1 + Roll to roll.
  • Act1 + Pitch to pitch.
  • Act1 + Yaw to yaw.
  • Trim for fine pitch control.

    Misc:

  • HCS-22 means Helicopter start 22. (22nd electric heli built)

  • Gyros have no stability or speed which means the helicopter is not limited in maneuverability.
  • The windows actually do stick out a bit in real life.
  • This can fly underwater.

You can fly and land underwater too ^

The part count is at 262 right now but I suspect it to get to 272 for proper car physics.

They are electric engines @Dinoairplanes You build them from scratch, you cannot just change a few codes on existing engines. I get triggered when people change a few values and call it electric.
    .
Electric engines are a few parts that produce thrust using gizmos rather than the engines in the part menu. The most reliable electric engine is the rotator based electric engine. It features a rotator and some wings. The main goal of an electric engine is to work no matter what and it is not always easy.
    .
The rotators need to have a very high input and good speed. Wings need to be custom tuned for the build and require a great deal of knowledge of wing physics. Overall, once you know how to make wings harness the rotational energy like a prop, you just made an electric engine.

How did you manage to make the engines work under the water?

@Notaleopard Offset the camera under the build and place the photos there.
@Rhubarb1263 by changing the S, and M value of paint to 1, and use static-high reflections.
