Controls:

1 -AIRBRAKES
6 / 7 - EJECT PAYLOAD
VTOL down - FLAPS/SLATS
TRIM - TRIMMING

GAU-8 Avenger build by specs. Also some visual/sound effects

Thank you WNP78 for health edit and ChiChiWerx for input
  1. Front Landing Gear is centered (no way for a side version to properly work in SP and get a straight trajectory during landing/takeoff. Not even angling)
  2. Gun parameters are correct (Rounds/second, velocity, optimal range etc).
  3. Level stable at max speed (439 mph at sea level).
  4. Trim tabs working as they should. They force the elevators (nose) in the opposite direction.

    @BusterShortWolf it's a gun with wings and engines :)

This plane is more of a plane strapped to a gun than a gun strapped to a plane

Know that I’m late but do you think you could build an a10 with the ejecting engines? @BogdanX

@BogdanX Your gun placement is accurate and so is your loadout, I don't have anything to complain about that. The nose gear placement is also reasonable because of SP physics limitations. The fuselage and details are very close to perfection and it's a great replica.

The flares are the only thing that made me curious, and I know this is a high-level of nitpicking. I didn't remember a pod for the A-10 with flares except for the large flares on parachutes which are used to light up the ground for better view. Even the A-10As used in operation Desert Storm in 1991 and the A-10As operated in Iraqi Freedom had these flare dispensers integrated behind the landing gear and schematics from 1999 also include flare dispensers. The museum model and some rare images of pre-1980 models are the only ones I have seen so far that don't have them.

Starting in the late Vietnam war IR missiles became very common and were death threats to pilots. Not having flares in the A-10 from 1980 would have made every mission a suicide job.
Even if you chose to not put the flares on for vintage style, then why put some on the ECM-pod? That makes no sense in my opinion.

I won't publicly upload an "overhauled" version just because of some very minor details like this, but I would upload it unlisted so you can see what I mean or use it for an overhaul yourself.

@BRuthless for example, Museum Displayed Model of A-10 A. Watch the Landing Gear pods, they are in early configuration (back section too small to install any kit flares there).
Flares showed up with upgrades on A-10C and placed there.
On the original manual, they just don't exist.
If you want to post a modernized A-10 (C), you should also install the right payload (Visually), not only flares.
Edit: almost anytime i go with more older variants of the planes (in this care the A), i avoid the last variant. I like the vintage vibe better. Also those participated on real conflicts, while last upgrades just in training

@BRuthless there are a ton of configurations, especially on flares placement.
I built this following the manual with original cutaway.
Modern variant of the A-10 has flares placed there, on LG pod, but earlier variants didn't have any installed. At the beginning had almost no protection...
The pod on the wing is actually a jamming device, no flares attached. Still, I liked the asymmetric flares deployment from one side only, so I improvised.
Plane is 100% accurate, except payload. From weapons to flares. I didn't want to spend another 200 parts on ordinance that already exist as weapons packs. That's why i left a lot of empty pylons for people to customize the setup as they want.

Read the description, payload was never intended to be accurate (no mention), still the gun follows the parameters as i remember (velocity, rate of fire, visual effects etc)
Same as ECM pod. Since it has zero use in SP (you cannot actually jam anything), i installed the flares on it. Those can be attached anywhere on the plane btw, they come as a kit.

As LG placement, I dare you place the front LG on the side and still make it run straight on runaway on SP. You can angle the front wheel, but eventually will deviate. Not to mention auto-roll/yaw, because the weight is not centered.

@BogdanX The landing gear is also offcenter on the real thing because it's more important that the gun is close to the center, as the recoil is strong enough to change the heading of the aircraft.

But in SP having offcenter landing gear would probably make it move sideways on the ground, so I'm okay with it beeing in the center.

In general this is probably the best A-10C ever built in SP and I really like it, but I know you are very precise so I want to tell you that you got the countermeasure dispenser completely wrong.

The ECM-pod (radar jammer) you put on it has no cm dispenser in reality, instead there are four dispensers with 30 flares each on both sides of the aircraft, right behind the rear landing gear in the fairings.

    https://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/usmilobserver/A-10s%20OEF/IMG1598a-1000650.jpg

Because that would mean launching 8 flares at the same time in SP, I did some changes. I put the four dispensers behind the landing gear on both sides, set their launch force and ammo to 0 and then added a bigger one with 120 ammo (4*30) which covers a set of four dispensers and nudged it so that it's not visible. Now the flares are relatively realistic. In reality they alternate between left and right.

If you want I can upload it unlisted and give you the link.

@BogdanX I would really appreciate it as I have had numerous tries to make round fuselage and I always ended up with a polygon that was nothing like a circle.

@Oski so far it works only on perfectly round fuselages.
To get the radius right, you can mass-scale OR xml edit (more complicated) with the new dimensions.
If you want it, i can give you the pattern, a circle with the radius of 1 (diameter of 2 SP Units) in the next days.

@BogdanX I always thought it was centered. Finally realizing it's off-center is almost as weird as realizing the Sea Vixen's cockpit isn't centered.

@Ian1231100 is off center on the real thing because is very long and it interferes with Landing Gear housing.

I just noticed the Warthog's gun is off-center. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
