Here is my entry for the contest. This is a "fictonal replica".

The F4U-4M was a trimmed down version of the famous Vought F4U used in the Pacific theatre during WW2. A carrier based fighter/bomber. It struck fear in the Japanese forces who called it "the whistling death" because of the sound emitted from an air inlet on the nose. Piloted by the Marine flight squadron Alpha Team, this aircraft was responsible for a considerable amount of downed aircraft.
Features:
The wings were clipped and made thinner for agility and speed. Armament: Six .50 caliber M2 Browning machine guns.
Operation:
Act1: Extend arrester hook.
Act3: Lights.
Forward on Vtol: Lower flaps.
Trim: You guessed it, trim.
